Outreach

Missions at St. Paul’s.   St. Paul’s is actively working toward our church’s mission statement, which is: “We seek to know Jesus Christ better and to reach out to others in His name”.

Local Outreach

  • Edenton/Chowan Food Pantry.
  • Edenton/Chowan Boys and Girls Club.
  • Open Arms Christian Ministry.  A local ministry providing a home with a spiritual emphasis for children and youth who were orphaned for a number of reasons.
  • Edenton Emergency Aid.  Local emergency assistant program providing rent, clothing, utility bill payment, low cost fuel and furniture in emergency situations.
  • Albemarle Pregnancy Resource Center.  The Albemarle Pregnancy Resource Center is a Christian ministry with a mission to defend life by supporting women unprepared for pregnancy.
  • The Benjamin House.  Benjamin House is an assisted-living residence for the mentally challenged, offering residents viable lifestyle options while strengthening their ties with family, church and community.
  • Local Mission Team.  Assists community with small home repair projects.
  • Kairos Prison Ministry.
  • Episcopal Farmworker Mission, Newton Grove.  God teaches us that we are called to respond for the dignity and justice for all human beings and the Episcopal Farmworker Ministry (EFwM) is working with such principals to ensure a better future for farm workers and their families. Through education, the protection of their human rights, and the care of their bodies and souls, EFwM works to change the world and the system that keeps farmworkers in poverty and subhuman conditions.
  • Glory Ridge Youth Mission Trip.  Youth and adults of St. Paul’s spend a week in one of the poorest areas in the mountains of North Carolina, doing construction work and building relationships with neighbors in need.

International Outreach

  • African Team Ministries.  Supports children’s education in Uganda.
  • Stop Hunger Now.  An international hunger relief organization that coordinates the distribution of food and other life-saving aid around the world. Stop Hunger Now’s meal packaging program provides volunteers the opportunity to package dehydrated, high protein, and highly nutritious meals that are used in crisis situations and in school feeding programs for schools and orphanages in developing countries around the world. In the fall St. Paul’s packaged 14,000 meals.
  • South American Mission Society.  Supports missionaries, Cameron and Roberto Vivanco in Ecuador.
  • St. Alban’s Crochu Haiti.  Ongoing support of church and school building projects at our sister church, St. Alban’s in Crochu Haiti. Support of the school and nutrition programs provide lifesaving aid to hundreds of children and families through financial support and mission trips. St. Paul’s has organized both medical mission trips and construction trips.
